Job Title: BI Consultant/Data Analyst

Location:

The hybrid role will be a mix of home working, office based in Loughborough and onsite customer visits. Our preference is that you are in commutable distance to Loughborough but exceptional candidates will be considered, regardless of UK location.

Role:

  • Assist the senior consultants in providing BI solutions to our customers. This will include:-
    – Working with our customers to understand and scope their requirements and summarise digital insights to improve their business processes and delivery of key corporate goals through the use of data and advanced analytics
    – Customer site visits across the UK will be required for certain projects
  • Responsible for automating backend internal and external data pipelines to ensure they are ‘analytics-ready’ for our customers advanced analytics needs. This will include:-
    – Preparing, transforming and integrating multiple data sources with appropriate integration tools
    – Understanding the value of the data in the context of the customers business and data strategy
    – Identifying current business processes and potential improvements through automation
    – A key focus on reducing manual data tasks through industry leading automation tools
  • Develop Advanced Analytics solutions for our customers including:-
    – Qlik Data Integration & Analytics, Power BI, SQL and other leading tools
    – Alignment with strategic goals
  • Provide data analytics support for our customers
  • The work will cover a broad range of industry sectors including our aviation clients

Non-Technical Skills:

  • A passion for people, understanding their data and how they can use data to deliver business advantage
  • Critical thinking
  • Strong data literacy skills and a thirst to learn
  • Attention to detail (and more attention to detail!)
  • Good communication skills. Translating complex data issues into business language
  • Be proactive in identifying and correcting problems
  • Project Management skills are required if you are the lead consultant on larger projects

Technical Skills:

  • Data Warehouse Automation
    – Building and maintaining data warehouses for customers is growing and we expect the successful candidate to work on these projects either as the lead or assisting another consultant
    – Microsoft SQL skills would be a good starting level
    – Engineering data pipelines ready for advanced analytics
  • Advanced Analytics Solutions – we provide a wide-range of BI solutions using industry leading tools but this specific role is mainly focused on Power BI
  • Power BI:
    – Advanced Power BI skills are required for this role. The candidate will be expected to be able to design and implement complex reports for our customers
  • Power Apps/Power Automate/RPA/Qlik
    – Any experience in these tools would be an advantage
  • Other reporting tools
    – Consideration will be given to applicants that can show a breadth of knowledge of other business intelligence tools (QlikSense, SSRS, SSAS, Tableau etc)
  • We understand that not all applicants will have these technical skills and consideration will be given to applicants that can fully satisfy only the Power BI or SQL skills
